Prayers for Eucharistic Adoration
O Salutaris
O Salutaris Hostia
Quae caeli pandis ostium
Bella premunt hostilia
Da robur, fer auxilium
O saving Victim, opening wide
The gate of heaven to man below!
Our foes press on from every side;
Thine aid supply, thy strength bestow.
Uni trinoque Domino
Sit sempiterna gloria
Qui vitam sine termino
Nobis donet in patria
To Thy great name by endless praise,
Immortal Godhead, one in Three;
Oh, grant us endless length of days,
In our true native land with Thee.
Amen.
Amen.
Prayer for Eucharistic Revival
Lord Jesus, we worship You in the Blessed Sacrament. Bless our work of reviving a true and lasting devotion to You in the Sacrament of Your Body and Blood. Help us bring others to perceive with the eyes of faith, Your Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist. Enlighten the minds of Your people and set our hearts on fire with love for You, O Jesus. Fill us with the desire to receive You often in Holy Communion.
Amen.
You may kneel or sit for the holy hour. Reconciliation will be offered in the confessional.
As the Minister approaches the altar for the incensation, please kneel.
Tantum Ergo
Tantum ergo Sacramentum
Veneremur cernui:
Et antiquum documentum
Novo cedat ritui;
Praestet fides supplementum
Sensuum defectui.
Down in adoration falling,
Lo! the sacred Host we hail,
Lo! o’er ancient forms departing
Newer rites of grace prevail;
Faith for all defects supplying,
Where the feeble senses fail.
Genitori, Genitoque
Laus et jubilatio,
Salus, honor, virtus quoque
Sit et benedictio:
Procedenti ab utroque
Compar sit laudatio.
To the everlasting Father,
And the Son Who reigns on high,
With the Holy Spirit proceeding
Forth from each eternally,
Be salvation, honor blessing,
Might and endless majesty.
Amen.
Amen.
Please remain kneeling for Benediction.
Presider: You have given them bread from heaven.
All: Containing all sweetness within it.
Presider: Let us pray. Lord Jesus Christ, you gave us the Eucharist as the memorial of your suffering and death. Act of Spiritual Communion
St Alphonsus Liguori
My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if you were already there,
and I unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.

Every first Friday we conclude Eucharistic Adoration with Vespers, the evening prayer of the Divine Office. At St Ignatius, Hickory, Vespers is prayed at 6:30 pm, with Benediction at 6:45 pm.

Salve Regina · Ordinary Time
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,
Hail our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To thee do we cry,
Poor banished children of Eve;
To thee do we send up our sighs,
Mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
Thine eyes of mercy toward us;
And after this our exile,
Show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving,
O sweet Virgin Mary.
Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiæ,
vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra, salve.
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Hevæ,
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
in hac lacrimarum valle.
Eia, ergo, advocata nostra, illos tuos
misericordes oculos ad nos converte;
Et Jesum, benedictum fructum ventris tui,
nobis post hoc exsilium ostende.
O clemens, O pia, O dulcis Virgo Maria.
Alma Redemptoris Mater · Advent–Candlemas
Loving Mother of the Redeemer,
Gate of heaven, star of the sea,
Assist your people who have fallen yet strive to rise again,
To the wonderment of nature you bore your Creator,
Yet remained a virgin after as before,
You who received Gabriel’s joyful greeting,
Have pity on us poor sinners.
Alma Redemptoris Mater, quæ pervia cæli
Porta manes, et stella maris, succurre cadenti,
Surgere qui curat, populo: tu quæ genuisti,
Natura mirante, tuum sanctum Genitorem
Virgo prius ac posterius, Gabrielis ab ore
Sumens illud Ave, peccatorum miserere.
Ave Regina Cælorum · Lent
Hail, O Queen of Heaven,
Hail, O Lady of Angels,
Hail, thou root, Hail, thou gate;
From whom unto the world a light has arisen:
Rejoice, O glorious Virgin,
Lovely beyond all others,
Farewell, most beautiful maiden,
And pray for us to Christ.
Ave, Regina cælorum,
Ave, Domina Angelorum:
Salve, radix, salve, porta
Ex qua mundo lux est orta:
Gaude, Virgo gloriosa,
Super omnes speciosa,
Vale, o valde decora,
Et pro nobis Christum exora.
Regina Cæli · Easter
Queen of heaven, rejoice, alleluia.
The Son you merited to bear, alleluia,
Has risen as he said, alleluia.
Pray to God for us, alleluia.
Regina cæli, lætare, alleluia;
Quia quem meruisti portare, alleluia,
Resurrexit, sicut dixit, alleluia:
Ora pro nobis Deum, alleluia.
In Memoriam
But we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. (1 Th 4:13)
As the Apostle invites us, we should not grieve as those “who have no hope” but should entrust ourselves to God’s mercy. Let us then join in prayer for God’s mercy on their souls, that they may be loosened from their sins (cf.CCC 958) and earthly attachments, and can enjoy the eternal reward.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. Amen.
